Attack on Russian patrol in Daraa governorate

The center of the Hmeimim Base of the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that an explosive device targeted a military police patrol of the Russian forces without causing any losses between the Russian military or damage to military equipment.

Director of Hmeimim Center for Reconciliation of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Alexei Pachin, said in a statement: "On July 13, 2019, a remote-controlled improvised explosive device was planted in part of a road in front of a military police patrol track of the Russian armed forces in Daraa governorate without any losses between Russian military elements or damage to military equipment. "

The initial information indicates that the "subversive terrorist operation" was carried out by militants from "terrorist and illegal organizations", which operates in a separate way in southern Syria, with the aim of escalating the situation in this region.

At the end of the statement, the director of the Hmeimim Center called on the leaders of the "illegal" armed groups to "abandon the provocations carried out by using weapons and to move towards a peaceful settlement of the situation in their areas of control."

The attack on the Russian patrol has not yet been adopted by either party.
